STEEL
Steel is a durable, hypoallergenic material that resists rust and discolouration. It has a cool, silvery shine and is ideal for pieces that need to withstand daily wear. Suitable for daily wear, but benefits from being wiped clean. Can be washed with mild soap and lukewarm water if needed.
IRON
Iron is a strong and malleable material often used as a base metal in jewellery. It offers stability and durability but may develop a patina over time when exposed to moisture. Avoid moisture and store in a dry place. Wipe with a soft cloth after use. Store separately to avoid scratches and oxidation.
BRASS
Brass is a durable metal alloy with a warm, golden hue – often used in unplated jewellery for its vintage-inspired look. Over time, it may darken or develop a natural patina, which many find beautiful and unique. Store in a dry, airtight space. Avoid contact with water, perfume and lotions. If tarnished, gently polish with a soft cloth to restore shine.
COPPER
Copper is a soft and flexible metal with a warm, reddish tone. It’s often used as a core in jewellery that is plated with other metals. Over time, copper may oxidize and darken, adding character and vintage charm. Store in a dry, airtight space. Avoid contact with water, perfume and lotions. If darkened, gently polish with a soft cloth.
RHINESTONES
Rhinestones are sparkling, faceted glass or acrylic stones designed to imitate gemstones. They add a luxurious look at an accessible price point and are commonly used in earrings, rings, and pendants. Avoid water, perfume and chemicals – they can dull or loosen the stones. Store separately in soft fabric.
GLASS BEADS
Glass beads are man-made and come in a variety of colours, finishes, and shapes. They are a vibrant, durable alternative to natural stones or pearls. Can handle light moisture but avoid impact. Store separately. Clean gently with a damp cloth if needed.
FRESHWATER PEARLS
Freshwater pearls are real pearls cultivated in freshwater mussels. Each pearl is unique in shape, size, and lustre, giving a timeless and elegant touch to necklaces and earrings. Put on last, take off first. Wipe gently after wear. Store in a cloth bag, not plastic.
SHELLS
Shell pieces are made from natural seashells that are shaped and polished to reveal their soft shimmer. They add a summery, boho feel to any piece of jewellery. Fragile – avoid impact and moisture. Store in a pouch or box.
CLOTHING
We love to use natural materials such as cotton, linen, wool, alpaca and viscose – they feel comfortable on the skin, allow the body to breathe, and age beautifully. For certain garments, we use blended fabrics where synthetic fibres are combined with natural fibres to achieve the ideal feel, fit, and durability.
COTTON
Cotton is a soft, breathable natural fibre that’s gentle on the skin and easy to care for. It’s one of the most widely used fibres in clothing due to its comfort and versatility. Wash inside out at low temperature with similar colours, may shrink slightly on first wash. Tumble dry on low heat if needed.
LINEN
Linen is a natural fibre made from the flax plant. It’s breathable, moisture-wicking, and ideal for warm weather. It softens over time and has a textured, elegant look. Wash inside out at low temperature with similar colours, may shrink slightly on first wash. Iron slightly damp, avoid tumble drying.
TENCEL
Tencel is a soft, silky fibre made from sustainably sourced wood pulp, often from eucalyptus trees. It's breathable, cool to the touch, and gentle on the skin – ideal for everyday wear and warm weather. Tencel also has a beautiful drape and is an eco-friendly choice. Wash inside out at low temperature with similar colours, use a gentle cycle. Hang to dry, avoid tumble drying.
WOOL
Wool is a natural fibre from sheep, known for its warmth, elasticity, and moisture regulation. It insulates even when damp and is common in knitwear and outerwear. Wash inside out with similar colours, use wool cycle or hand wash in cold water, do not wring. Lay flat to dry. Store folded, not hung.
ALPACKA
Alpaca wool is a luxurious natural fibre that is extremely soft, warm and lightweight. It’s hypoallergenic and less itchy than sheep’s wool. Wash inside out with similar colours, use wool cycle or hand wash in cold water, do not wring. Lay flat to dry. Store folded, not hung.
VISCOSE
Viscose is a semi-synthetic fibre made from wood pulp. It has a silky, soft feel and drapes beautifully. It’s breathable and comfortable but may shrink or lose shape when wet. Wash inside out with similar colours, use a gentle cycle or hand wash in cold water. Avoid tumble drying.
POLYESTER
Polyester is a strong synthetic fibre known for its durability and resistance to wrinkles, shrinking, and fading. It dries quickly and retains colour well. Wash inside out with similar colours, use a gentle cycle or hand wash in cold water. Dries quickly. Rarely needs ironing, avoid high heat.
ACRYLIC
Acrylic is a synthetic fibre designed to mimic wool. It’s soft, warm and easy to care for, but less breathable than natural fibres. Machine wash at low temperature. Lay flat to dry. Avoid high heat when ironing or drying.
NYLON
Nylon is a strong, elastic synthetic fibre known for its durability and shape retention. Often used in blends for added strength. Machine wash at low temperature. Air dry or tumble dry low. Iron only on lowest setting if needed.
